Pinch Hitter Program

Just think about it: an all too familiar situation for working parents:
It’s 3am and your 2 year old wakes up feeling ill. You’re up for an hour comforting her and she finally dozes back to sleep. You return to bed and pray she feels better at 6am. You can’t miss another sick day as all your sick days are used up and you have an important meeting today. But at 6am she feels worse and she has a fever. Her daycare won’t take her when she’s ill. What do you do?

It is estimated that today’s working parents miss 5.4 days of work because their child is ill. Add school closings, holidays and absent sitters and those absences multiply. And they add up in

  • lost wages
  • lost productivity
  • low employee morale

They can negatively impact your promotional opportunities, your relationship with your boss and your feeling of well-being at work.

With Pinch Hitter care, ANEN takes care of all your worries by giving you a pre-screened professional caregiver at short-notice for your family’s emergency needs. Allowing you to rest assured your child or relative is well taken care of and that you can perform your job properly.

We recruit from only the best childcare and eldercare professionals in the Capital District and also partner with others around the country that meet and use our quality standards.

ANEN screens all our temporary caregivers with a Seven Point Screening Process:

    • Review of 12 page completed application form
    • Thorough two-part interview including phone and face-to-face
    • Comprehensive reference check of childcare and professional references
    • Criminal background check
    • Department of Motor Vehicle check
    • Drug screening
    • Orientation of ANEN policies, procedures and process

They must also:

  • have at least 2 years of recent childcare experience
  • be fluent in English
  • have proof of citizenship or evidence that they may legally work in the US
  • be at least 18 years of age
