Fees for Babysitters, Nannies & Other Child Care

Agency Program and Fees: CHILD CARE

Temporary Membership Into The A New England Nanny Program Membership:
$100 initial application/membership fee. Permits access to the temporary/occasional/babysitting program for first year. $100 annual fee thereafter.

Daily Referral Agency Fee:
With 48 hour notice: $20 per day
With less than 48 hour notice: $30 per day
Holidays: $45 per day
All fees must be paid via credit card or on a pre-payment basis.

A guide to what nannies and household employees generally charge:

Full-time day, Mon-Fri (Live-out) $350-600/wk
Full-time (Live-in)* $325-500/wk
Part-time weekdays $9-13/hr
Occasional evening and/or weekends $9-13/hr
Overnights $40-50/evening
Tutoring $25/hr
Nanny share $350-500/wk
Companion $10-$13/hr

*Note: for live-in nanny positions, figure an additional cost of $50/wk in utilities and food.

Other Factors:

  • A nanny who brings her child with her generally charges 25% less
  • Federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour
  • NYS minimum wage is $7.15 per hour
  • Housekeeping duties are generally paid extra
  • These charges are in GROSS wages (before taxes)
  • Employer taxes are an additional 10-11% of gross wages
  • Employee withholding taxes are generally 20-30% of gross wages on a full-time salary
  • You negotiate the wages and payment method directly with the caregiver

Long-Term Permanent Placement Program Membership
$195 non-refundable one-time application fee (which can be deducted from the Agency fee) includes:

  • membership
  • one-on-one consultation (our office, your home or your place of business)
  • search by consultants
  • one-year access to the temporary babysitting program

Re-activation
Existing members pay a $195 non-refundable re-activation fee to the long-term program (which can be deducted from the agency fee).

Agency service includes:

  • Prior employment and reference checks
  • Personal interview and skills assessment
  • Client consultation
  • Social security check
  • Credit check
  • Driver’s license check
  • Criminal conviction search
  • Adult personality testing
  • Drug screening
  • Medical history questionnaire
  • Payroll tax consultation
  • On-going Agency support and mediation
  • 5 days of back up service (Agency Fee Only)

Agency Fee
An on-going fee for as long as the nanny is employed:
Weekly rates: (minimum 4 weeks)

Live-out  $100/wk
Live-in $125/wk
Nanny Share $125/wk

Buy-out Option
A family may opt out of the on-going agency fee by paying the buy-out fee at any time.

Live-out  12% of annual gross salary (min. $1,600)
Live-in 13% of annual gross salary (min. $2,000)
Nanny share

13% of annual gross salary (min. $1,800)

Summer nanny $525.00 flat fee

Note: Buy-out option for Household Manager or Personal Assistant positions is 15% of annual gross salary (minimum $3,000).

Guarantee
Sixty (60) day service voucher guarantee. Pro-rated service voucher towards future services. All fees are due the date of ordering a background check.

Babysitter Services for Hotel Guests
Please allow a 4 hour minimum for each request.

Agency Fees:
With 48 hour notice: $35 per nanny, per day
With less than 48 hour notice: $45 per nanny, per day
Holidays: $55 per nanny, per day
All fees must be paid via credit card.

Babysitter Fees:
$12-16/hr.
Paid in cash or check directly to caregiver.

GTM Payroll/Tax Service $50-60/mth

Rates are subject to change without notice (2012)

Agency Program and Fees: ELDERCARE
Eldercare fees are comparable with the temporary and permanent fees listed above for childcare.

Agency Program and Fees: OTHER HOUSEHOLD HELP
Other household help positions, such as a Household manager or a Personal Assistant have comparable fees with the temporary and permanent fees listed above for childcare. The only difference being that for a buy-out option for these positions, ANEN charges 15% of the annual gross salary (minimum $3,000).
